The IB's mission
Since it was founded in 1968, the IB’s mission has been built on a cornerstone of creating a better world through education. We believe that now more than ever and are committed to ensuring that our educational programs reflect this for the benefit of IB schools and students.
The IB programs focus on fostering critical thinking and building problem-solving skills, while encouraging diversity, international mindedness, curiosity, and a healthy appetite for learning and excellence.
An IB education provides students distinct advantages as they enter a world where asking the right questions is as important as discovering answers. For over 50 years, our global community of world class educators and coordinators engage with more than 1.4 million students in over 5,300 schools across 158 countries.
The IB at Linden High School
Linden High is one of only 16 IB Schools in the State of New Jersey. IB offers students the prestigious IB Diploma Program. As a IB World School since 2001, Linden High School is one of the longest running IB Programs in the state.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is a demanding pre-university course of study that leads to examinations. It is designed for highly motivated eleventh and twelfth grade students from all academic backgrounds and abilities.
The IBO’s goal is to provide students with the values and opportunities that will enable them to develop sound judgment, make wise choices, and respect others in the global community. The student who satisfies the demands of the program demonstrates a strong commitment to learning, both in terms of the skills and discipline necessary for success in a competitive world. The IBO has shown that students are well prepared for university work and the diploma program has earned a reputation for rigorous assessment, giving the IB Diploma holders access to the world’s leading universities.

Recognition of IB programs
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is one of the world’s most innovative educational courses for 16-19 year olds.
It focuses on personal, professional and academic development and is globally recognized by universities for the holistic and rigorous education it provides.
The IB works consistently to make sure the DP is globally recognized by universities, with its students gaining competitive offers for further study.
All DP curriculums are reviewed on a seven-year teaching cycle to ensure that each is fit for purpose in a changing world and incorporates the latest educational research and lessons learned from a thorough evaluation of the existing curriculum. The DP curriculum review is a collaborative process that aims to produce excellent, internationally minded, research-based curriculums and support material that enable students to develop the attributes of the learner profile and the IB mission, thereby providing an excellent preparation for life in the 21st century.
